Playtime at Tutupa and Grandma's House

They got a beautiful, brand new water and sand table for the boys to play with when they are over. Here's some pics that Gunther took of the boys in action.

My Stupid Back!

I'm on the floor, again. My mom is watching the boys. Stupid back!!! I dropped an egg on the floor this morning. My first thought was, I need to put them in baby jail right now. But, no. I decide to try and clean it really quick before they notice what I'm up to. As soon as I start cleaning it up, they are both standing right there. Fingers out and ready to smear the egg everywhere. I grab Nalu and put him in baby jail. La'a is now in full-on finger painting mode with the egg yolk. I grab him, wipe him off and into baby jail he goes. Then I clean up the egg, no problem. I got La'a out of baby jail just fine. Then it's time to grab the sack of potatoes (a.k.a. Nalu) and that is when my back shot pain all over the place. It was like my back said to me, "You are an idiot. You can't put that big baby down without bending your knees! And this is what you get." Not fun. I'm so thankful for my mom. I don't know how to take care of twin boys while laying on the ground with a heating pad and pumping myself full of ibuprofen.

Why I wanted to be a mommy

The boys bring tears to my eyes often. Here are some of the things that make it so special to be a mommy (and a mommy to twins)

When they both want a kiss and hug at the same time.
When Nalu spontaneously hugs his brother.
When they play chase around the kitchen table and one finds the other and they both start to giggle.
When La'a bends down to get your eye contact and smiles at you.
When the say "Mem, mem, mem, mem" or mommy.
When Nalu hugs La'a while they are nursing.
When La'a doesn't push Nalu away when he tries to hug him.
When they both take turns feeding me Cheerios.

Backyard Projects

The boys love exploring the backyard. They are so busy with numerous projects out there. Here they like to pick up the gravel and put in on top of the bucket:

Then they love to play with the handle. One wants it up and the other wants it down.

Then it's off to try and get our dog Nihina to pay attention to them. They bang rocks against the gate and squeal with joy when she comes near them.

There's a helicopter!
Dirt is so fascinating...

Monkeys on the loose.

No, no, La'a!
